The Steven Leask Foundation was founded in order to raise funds to ensure Steven’s future needs are met, both physically and emotionally.
Tragically Steven’s mother passed away when Steven was 5 years old, leaving his Dad as the sole carer.
Steven was born with severe “athetoid cerebral palsy” (quadriplegia), which confines him permanently to a wheelchair. He is totally dependent on his father and his carers and aids (at school) for all his life's needs, including feeding, bathing, toileting and dressing.
Steven cannot sit or stand unaided and he needs assistance in his education, even though he has no intellectual impairment at all.
The foundation holds raffles and holds fundraisers during each year to raise funds for his needs and to maintain his equipment (i.e. his wheelchair van).
